Why Membership Matters
Belonging to a church family is a meaningful and transformative part of following Jesus. Membership is more than adding your name to a list—it’s about committing to a community, embracing shared values, and joining in the mission God has given us together.

Church membership gives you a spiritual home—a place where you are known, supported, and encouraged in your walk with Jesus. It’s an opportunity to go beyond simply attending.

Being part of a local church keeps us anchored. Through teaching, fellowship, accountability, and service, members grow spiritually alongside others who desire the same thing: to know Jesus more deeply.

Membership means participating in what God is doing here. Members pray, serve, give, and use their God-given gifts to build up the church and reach our community. It is a shared commitment to the vision and direction of the church.

Membership is a commitment to care for one another—celebrating joys, supporting during challenges, and encouraging one another in faithfulness.

Membership also includes a practical and meaningful responsibility: members help guide the church through prayerful decision-making.
Members are asked to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year.
This meeting provides important updates on every area of the church—ministries, finances, vision, and future plans.
Members also vote on the election of council members, and on any church matters that require congregational approval.
Occasionally, additional meetings may be called during the year when a vote or important update is required.
The Membership Process
1. Membership Class
This class is an opportunity to:
Learn about our church’s vision, values, and beliefs.
Understand what membership means in practice.
Ask questions in a relaxed, open environment.
Attending the class doesn’t obligate you to become a member—it is simply a time to explore.
2. Conversation with a Leader
After attending the class, you’ll meet with a pastor or church leader. This conversation allows you to:
Share your journey of faith.
Reflect on how membership fits into your spiritual life.
Ask any remaining questions.
3. Confirmation of Membership
If you choose to move forward, your membership will be formally confirmed at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) or General Meeting. This is a special moment where the church body recognises and welcomes new members.
