24-7 Prayer

Prayer Room

The roots of the 24-7 movement can be found in the Moravian prayer meetings that took place nearly 300 years ago. The 24-7experience has reached TIC Toulouse through what can only be described as God’s prompting and pathway.

A member of TIC met one of the founder members of the current 24-7 movement, Pete Greig, at Spring Harvest 2004. Pete’s enthusiasm is demonstrated in the book Red Moon Rising of which he is a co-author. This book has made a significant impact on a number of our congregation and as a result the church tried out its first continuous prayer experience in June 2005. The event is now part of the church calendar, twice a year.

Prayer Room

Our 24-7 experience involves setting aside a room for continual prayer over a weekend and church members take one or two hour slots to pray individually or in pairs. The room is set out so that prayer can be experiential, touching all of the senses. Themes have included Armistice and Prayer for France although much of the time is spent coming into the presence of God, getting right with God and giving him Worship and Praise. Individuals often find that an hour of prayer initially seems daunting but at the end of the experience, is not long enough! We look forward to welcoming you to our church and experiencing God in a personal and perhaps different way in the Prayer Room.
